SNClocks > Side windows from the back
SNClocks > Backplate with smaller gears in place - only the gears that go between the plates are in position
SNClocks > Gears that go between the back and the intermediate plates
SNClocks > Intermediate plate installed. The intermediate plate keeps gear arbors short to minimize gear deflection. Intermediate plates are only found on the finer mechanisms
SNClocks > Original gut end fitting. This is the first time I have seen such an elegant solution to tying off the end of the weight line inside the winding drum. It consists of a small piece of brass with three holes drilled through it. After the gut was threaded through the block it was punched to hold gut in place.
SNClocks > Replacement gut end fitting. I duplicated the original drilled block, but only punched the point that woudl capture the very end of the gut line. A truly elegant solution to this challenge!
SNClocks > Maintaining Power Set-up. This design provides for using a 5 spoke gear instead of making a special gear for the time train.
