SNClocks > The hood, with exceptional carving to each corner, and then, of course, there is the classical Second Baroque crown!
SNClocks > Headpiece showing both the fantastic quality of the carving, the wonderful condition of this clock!
SNClocks > The dial, with the subsidiary dials for the seconds, day of the month, and day of the week, is in near perfect, original condition. It is rare that a dial doesn't need to have any of the silver plating replaced, but this one was just too perfect, as can be seen in this photo. And, not surprisinig, the gold plate was also in perfect condition. And what an extensive use of the pierced and engraved mask around the hour chapter ring numbers! The gold plated trim around the numbers is not painted onto the dial, it is a separate piece of metal that has been engraved, and pierced (cut out) to leave only the very fine framework that you can see around the number. Truly and exceptional dial!
SNClocks > I always have liked the floor-standing clocks with the lenticular window in the bottom of the trunk door. This allows you to see the pendulum swinging even with the door closed.
SNClocks > The weights and pendulum bob are in superb condition, with only the most minor of dings - if you can find any at all!
SNClocks > The base stands on 4 "Bun" feet, that are in excellent condition
SNClocks > The carved details on this clock are very finely done, as would be expected of the last quarter of the 1800s in Vienna.
SNClocks > The clocks base includes a two shelf storage compartment, with locking door. Naturally, the same key opens all three doors.
The carved details on this clock are very finely done, as would be expected of the last quarter of the 1800s in Vienna.
